I can’t believe that in one year, Grace has transformed from a helpless little being who could only cry when she needed something, into a walking, babbling little creature who can make her wants and needs easily known.
At one year old, Grace is 18.5 pounds & we’ll get her official height on Wednesday! She can walk (unsteadily, but it counts!!), and can say Mama and Dada, but never seems to say Mama in reference to me. Dada on the other hand, is very clearly how she identifies Brian! She hasn’t shown a whole lot of interest in eating solid foods so far, but occasionally enjoys cheerios and sometimes tolerates broccoli, carrots and sweet potatoes.
When I think back on the whirlwind of this last year, I just can’t help but think about the people who helped make this year as wonderful as it was. Our parents have been such a source of support and love for our little family, and of course all of Grace’s aunties & her uncle!
I surely would have lost my mind without my mom friends. These are the women I text freely no matter the hour, knowing that I can rely on them to give unbiased opinions, endless support and zero judgment!
And Brian! Because of my wonderful partner, I have the ability to be a stay at home parent to Grace (and Seabass)! The stresses of new parenthood are no joke, but I know that you have my back & there’s nothing that we can’t get through together. I can’t tell you how much joy I feel every time Grace hears you come home & visibly lights up & cries out ‘Dada!’
